small scsi compactflash reader question

had to wonder if these indeed are as hotswap as any disk/syquest/zip/etc drives would be basically?

just thinking a bit here about using old camera via media card alone instead of bothering with trying to keep a serial port free for the normal sync cable usage otherwise
