Semi-Classic Mac for $10!!

I was on Craigslist looking for Macs to add to my collection and came across an eMac for sale! The original specs where on the label on the bottom of the CD drive door were 800 MHz G4, 256 MB of RAM, no Airport Card, SuperDrive, 60 GB hard drive. Everything was original, but the computer recognizes 512 MB of RAM. The big selling point for me was the fact it had Adobe CS2! Even thought its an old and outdated Photoshop, it's a good start for me. It has Mac OS X 10.2.8 Jaguar and Mac OS 9 for the Classic Environment. Does anyone know to install an AirPort Card in this thing? I'm guessing it takes the original one. I will upload pictures tomorrow.

Nice one! The Airport card slot is under a little tray above the optical drive, which you reach by pulling down the spring-loaded DVD cover.

I looked at the exploded diagrams . . . 8-o

Luckily, I'll never have to work on on of those things. It looks kinda like my 17" Studio CRT . . . stuffed to the gills with an electronic tapeworm!

No mention of part number for the AirPort Card upgrade, so you're undoubtedly right about it being the original. Thankfully, installing it should be a piece of cake, it's behind the CD bezel and all you need in the way of tools is a #2 Phillips screwdriver.

Nice snag, have fun with the warez on the sucker, that eAIO is just not my style. [;)] ]'>

Thanks to Wikipedia, I found out my model is the ATI Graphics model. Thanks to Apple.com, I found out the AirPort Extreme card works with eMac (ATI Graphics) and newer. And to you and ifixit, just open the disk drive, unscrew the 2 screws see able, put in the card and put the screws back in.

Sadly, its not the USB 2 model. Boo. Still can't beat $10! Also came with original keyboard and a off brand mouse.
