So I got a new SE, internal drive worked enough that Disk First Aid would see it, but fail to initialize. HD SC Setup always said a suitable drive could not be located. Then the drive detonated. Enter the replacement 4.5 GB Seagate. Working with System 7.0.1 and 6.0.8 at the moment. But driver was partitioned into three under 7.6.1 with each partition under 2GB. This was done on a Performa 5215CD.
So now back to the SE. Installed drive and boot 7.0.1 Disk Tools. Still no go with HD SC Setup and First Aid does not even see it. Managed to get SCSI Probe running. Complained it was not terminated. Oops! So I terminated. Now Probe sees the drive at 0 as it is set to. But HD SC Setup and First Aid still do not see it. Probe will not mound it.
Next move?
ST34555N is drive model
No jumpers besides reserved block on front
Jumper strip has jumper at each far end across. One to terminate bus, other to terminate power to SCSI bus (jumper was already there)
