SE/30 RF paint question

Ok, silly question - I know. But when did Apple switch to the super reflective metallic RF paint? I have an SE/30 with that brown paint used on older compacts. Both bucket and face and not sprayed over silver. But I dont recall ever seeing an SE with brown paint, and production started on those nearly two years before. I would think there would be many SE with brown paint. Now I could be wrong and just not recall an SE with brown paint, but I have about 20 of the dang things on hand and opened about 5 of them made in 1987 - all silver.

A different RF paint? could be just where it was produced.  I would not guess a time frame per say but build location.  As long as it met standard they would not care.

Geez, totally forgot to get pics up. Well here ya go. There were a few case plants and molds I am sure. But for the heck of it, I uploaded pics to also show some subtle difference from a case made a year later.

This is the only compact I have seen with rounded screw tops. The only ones I have seen before are much more squared off.

I can not located any part numbers on the face plate. But the brown RF paint may be too thick - slightly odd since so much is visible on the older compacts with brown paint.

The screw post braces are thicker on the brown paint model.

The inside chamfer around the power plug is much wider on the brown paint model.
