scsi-> Ide

Anybody know how much those SCSI↔whatever adapters run? Or a good site to keep up-to-date on that info? Someday I'm going to have to go that route, as my SCSI drives inevitably fail, so it would be good to know.

The board looks like the artmix CF PowerMonster device announced to be available end of 2008. Estimated price: USD 100 per unit w/o memory (CF card) plus shipping charge. Gentlemen, start saving your money! When you attempt to write to artmix, keep in mind the salesman is a non-native speaker of English. Keep your conversation easy understandable and polite :) .

If you know another source for this CF-SCSI-converter board (tailored for the SCSI-PowerBooks), share your knowledge, please!

Btw: a PowerBook equipped with a solid state disk and without a fan provides great silence to you (given that you work in a silent environment). You will not want another equipment after experiencing a quiet computer. For writing tasks I prefer my fanless, CF-booting PB1400 compared to any recent PowerBook.
