Sad mac code 024300 on 512K and wierd sound...

I fired up the 512K for the first time in years and was confronted with this... from memory it actually rebooted and bonged into this screen spontaneously one day about 12 years ago... weirdrd garbled raster and what appears to be dead mac code 024300. xx(



Also, instead of a bong it has some garbled noise from the speaker.

Anybody know what hardware fault this represents? I can't find my copy of DMS anywhere.

RAM probably, as i think the framebuffer for the video also is in RAM, and thats a dead giveaway.

That'd make sense... Assuming one of the chips itself is bad is it still possible to get the memory chips for them new or would I have to source compatible ones from some other piece of old-tech?

I just got 64kbit DRAM from Jameco. They probably have the 256s as well
