can only say i as told that when i was poking round at the start of the 2006-non-event that 2005 was the first.

My first was in 2005 and I'm almost 100% certain there was one the year before, though I don't think there was a web page or anything "official".

I completely agree. More festival than competition. I appreciate everyone doing their part to help it work.

And glad it is more festival than competition. Just would like a place where we can see who and what happened.
