Restoring a G4 cube and a 22in Cinema Display

A friend sold me his cube and his 22" cinema display and I intend to restore them.

1. The transparent plastics have yellowed. How can I remove the yellow tint ?

2. There are some scratches. How can I remove them ?

3. The monitor's plastic foot is broken. Where can I find a new one ?

4. The ADC cable is yellow and damaged. Where can I find a new one ?

Thank you all, fellow cube lovers, for your invaluable advices.

Hi Bunbury,

1 + 2: I think you'll need to experiment with various products and formulations as de-yellowing clear plastics is comparable to fixing yellowed/oxidised car headlights as opposed to the usual "retrobright" process for white/beige plastics.  I'd start with a wipe down using isopropyl alcohol and see if any yellow residue comes off that way (assuming it may be dirt or tar over sun damage), check also headlight scratch/restoration products as sold in your local automotive store.  Meguiar's PlastX is good for fine surface scratches and polishing plastics, there are also other two or three step products for repairing clear plastics.

3 + 4:  Cabling and foot probably from a donor 22" ADC with a smashed screen, or make your own ...

Follow directions?  You need some lint-free towels for application, it's probably the gentlest plastic restorer so won't scratch

Just another thumbs up for Meguiar's PlastX. It is gentle but really polishes plastic nicely. great product. I've used it on the exterior of a Cube and it took the fine scratches and shined it right up.
