Since I have seen a few threads on rebuilding lithium "smart batteries", I figured I would post some relevant information if you ever want to rebuild one and actually have it work.
Once a smart battery registers itself as dead, it is DEAD no matter if you repack the cells. its still DEAD. the EEPROM has to be reset into an initial state, or cloned from a good working battery in order for it to ever work again.
