Rare Powerbook 100 recall letter from Apple

Hi everyone,

I was lucky enough to find this letter in some item I recently bought out of Ebay
It's about the recall Apple had to make in 1992 for 60000 Powerbook 100, which made the stock price fall 2% the same day

As far as I can see, there are no pictures of that letter anywhere on the whole internet, so well I thought what better place to share it than 68KMLA; so here it is,

Very cool letter. Interesting about that shorting issue.
I saw a similar problem with a G3 Powerbook years later. It was a "Lombard" I believe.
The hard drive cable ran under the drive and rubbed against the case until it shorted and burned a hole in the bottom of the case. The call to support got interesting once I mentioned "fire" they transferred me to a special rep who quickly agreed to replace the PowerBook and had me return the damaged unit to Apple.
I know Apple was aware of this issue because later models (Pismo?) had a plastic strip added to the HD cable in that location.

Coool! I had to check my pb100 serial lol. All good. I wonder what caused the short?
