QuickTime and QuickTime Musical Instruments Do Not Match

Hi there,

I’m fairly new with system 7 and have just encountered this error after installing a bunch of FMV games.

What does it mean and how to I resolve it?

You can upgrade to QuickTime 4.0.3 on a 68k Mac. That should give you an update and a match.

Thanks! That resolved it! So the issue was caused by multiple games installing different and unmatched versions of QuickTime components?

Yea they did install many out-dated copies of QuickTime with the games. Plus multiple copies of SimpleText everywhere. Most installers have a custom install button and you may be able to omit them in your installations.
