Quadra 950

Finally (finally!) I'm getting a Q950. I found it on Craigslist, and the guy had it available, so I bit. The CL post:

"I am selling this Quadra 950 because I no longer have room for it. It runs great, the case is in good shape, the only problem is that the CD Drive is one of the old caddy load drives, and I no longer have the caddy for it. But the drive can be replaced with any old SCSI CD drive. This computer is still very powerful despite its age, and can be used as a file server, print server or be used to route internet traffic across a network.

The system specifications are:

33MHz Motorolla 68040 processor

128MB RAM (expandable to 256MB)

700MB SCSI Hard Drive

5 NuBus 90 slots

1 PDS Slot

I am asking for $25.00 or best offer.

Please email me at ____ if you are interested."

I figured that the RAM and HD size made it worth it, more so then the fact that it a Q950. I'm picking it up today at 3.

Nice one on the RAM. Mine has all of 40 MB :(

They're very impressive machines. Put on MDF board on top of it and you've got a nice coffee table, too...

Do you want a Workgroup Server L2-cache/SCSI PDS card for running A/UX? I have one spare..

The 950 has no NuBus90 slots.

only PPCs and the 840av had them I think... all others kinda were NuBus45 ;)

BTW nice machine and welcome to the 950 club :p

It was Apple's belief that NuBus '90 slots were built into the Q950.

Developer Note said:
... and gives brief descriptions of the features that are different from those of the Macintosh Quadra 900.
... five NuBus expansion slots with NuBus ’90 features and space for oversized NuBus cards ...
I second the motion of welcome.

I thought only first generation of Quadras (700 and 900) have somewhat "crippled" implementation of Nubus 90? Q800, Q840AV, Q660AV and Nubus Powermacs were supposed to have right implementation of Nubus 90 features and speed possibiilties. Or am I wrong and someone could enlight me in this matter? :-)
