Quadra 700 Really Strange Floppy Issues

So my Quadra 700 wasn't reading anything at all. I took apart the drive and lubed it quick. Nothing heavy duty.

All together, when I insert a disk it freezes the entire system, no hard drive activity light, and will either have a menu pop up after a few minutes asking to initialize, OR will completely freeze everything.

Just now as I type this it just read an installer disk. It has been a few minutes with a constant BRRP BRRP sound.

What's wrong?

The drive will slowly eject, maybe like it's having difficulties?

Could this be a PSU issue and the drive is reading slowly?

the drive's grease is probably all dried up and that eject gear has most likely seen better days.  You can refurbish the drive yourself or you can pay someone on here to do it.

No Im fine doing it myself, just wondering what's going on!

Side note: trying to install 7.6. I'm using the legacy recovery disk. I keep getting loads of checksum errors when making floppy images?
