So I plugged it in tried different working power supplies. I have yet to dust the main board but so far not past power light and hard drive spin. Put a good battery in just to make sure.

Anyone else have any issues with theirs?

Have you taken the board out and cleaned it yet? Make sure to inspect all the chips, and look for bent over touching legs.

So far i've had a no chime/boot issue macintosh LC-II someone bent one of the cpu legs over, it was touching the other one. This was a result of the buyer not being careful when removing the NIC card before the sale.

Also, I had a no chime/boot boot issue with my LC-III, where a tiny little speck of solder fell bridging just 2 of the legs on the main VLSI chip, I found the solder speck and removed it with my dental pick, hit the power switch and it was booting just like it used to.

Has anyone ever had to re-cap a Quadra 700?

Okay success. Removed motherboard and basically removed a sock layer of dust from underneath it. Took a toothbrush dusted the entire board and boom instant boot. No extra cram, 20 megs of real ram total, 100 mb hard drive and she fast as all get out. Wish the 68k performas felt this fast. Thanks Uni great save.

Well the Quadra 700 is a great computer to use :)

It's probably been in use for the last 24 years.

They just assumed that it was about ready to bite the dust, when the power button started acting flaky.

Little did they know, The dust was biting it, and needed a little service :)
