Quadra 610 SCSI Issue

I have an external Micronet Sysquest 88mb removable drive in pristine condition. Works fine on my LC's. I plug it up to the Quadra and it just sits there, the internal HD doesn't boot, the Ext just sits there... xx(

Steps taken so far:

Board, Freshly Re-Capped and washed, No bad traces or spots on the board anywhere

Checked all traces from the SCSI controller, all points good

Internal HD - SCSI ID#1 - Terminator Packs installed

External - SCSI ID#6 - Terminator (Grey) installed.

I have tried several different combos to no avail. Any other thoughts?

The bad part is that I have no other external drive to test on the 610... I know the drive is ok, because it will boot my LC and LC475 when I have a "boot" cartridge in it.

And the 610 boots fine from the internal drive? Hmm, it sure looks like an ID conflict, but you say you've sorted that out.... Try removing one terminator, and if that doesn't work, replace it and remove the other. Lastly remove both.

Ok, I will try that. There are 2 terminator packs on the Int. HD, so what you are saying is try it with one in and one out, then switch?

Does the drive have a SCSI parity option? I've seen that on lots of Syquests.

I think that if you search around for information about the 610 and SCSI Manager 4.3, you'll turn up lots of SCSI voodoo stories for those models.

It is a micronet/syquest... No parity option on it that I can tell, I know that doesn't mean anything. But since I have 2 LC's with NO hd's or fd's I would like to use it to boot... The Quadra is my only option on that one.

LC - 6.08 or 7.1.1 (Depends on my mood)

Q605 - 7.6.1

Q610 - 7.6.1

I decided to part out the Q610 so I can run my Q605, almost the same system performance wise. (605 has the full 040)
