Pseudo Conquest - New DayStar Badge (found in my garage)

This was unexpected. I was going through my DayStar box to snag the disks so I could make scans of the labels when a previously unknown badge fell out of the disk packet. I somehow never saw this or completely forgot about it. Either way, it's an unexpected and awesome discovery. It's a DayStar badge with the full color logo. It's really cool looking. It measures 2.75" x .75". I think it shipped with the original Turbo cards. I couldn't resist recreating the badge in Illustrator, so it's attached.

Nice find and nice work! Did the original trailing pattern come from a Zip-o-Tone sheet, d'you reckon? I mean, today we'd just do an illustrator blend (well who knows, if it was done after 1988 it could very well be a shape blend).

dark blue for me, but I’m assuming someone uploads this to redbubble and then we get to choose our own colors :)

I feel like I'm missing out on some passive income. Maybe I should make an account on one of those t-shirt websites and sell "retro t-shirts."

What are the odds the current owners of DayStar, Rodime, etc. would come after me?

I’d love to see a good variety of vintage shirts. I have one that I enjoy wearing, which is in Commodore 64 boot screen blue, and features the boot text for the C64, with a READY prompt.

There are quite a few Mac ones that could easily be made up. I can’t do it though, or I would.

Yeah I have no objection to people monetizing vintage imagery for (very small) profit. I have several old Mac-themed t-shirts from those websites myself. They are pretty decent quality too, and not expensive. I think most of these trademarks are effectively abandoned which I think (though I’m no lawyer) means they are fair game?

I would think that the use of mostly abandoned trademarks by some hobbyists to make possibly hundreds of dollars isn’t within most rights holders preferred legal battle funds, if even any such fund exists.

Nintendo and Disney, on the other hand, would like to have a word with you just for thinking it.

Anyone need a DaystarDigital shower curtain? :ROFLMAO:

Prices are automatic, I can't change them.

I'll need to upload a few more designs. The UI doesn't allow for different colored shirts & logo designs within a single "design" group. So I'll make a new one for darker colored shirts. Besides, the blue-on-blue and black-on-black wouldn't show up anyway.

I have to admit, the computer desk mat looks awesome. I might have to order one. :)

Also, they don't allow you to upload vector artwork. I had to rasterize it before uploading, so I did it as big as I could.

Oh this is really, really good. Thanks for doing this. I will buy something. How does it work, do you get a percentage? (Happy that you do!)

Hahaha there is a full size Powered By Daystar blanket for your bed on there ……

I think I get a small percentage. I'll have to look. There's a part where it says "Markup" and tells you how much and item is, but I don't know what percentage of the markup goes to the company and what percentage goes to the artist.

@Bolle @Skate323k137 @Crutch Before anyone buys anything, lemme reupload it. You can't edit anything after it's been published to your "Store." You have to delete the whole store, then make a new one. I found there was almost no upper limit on image size, so I want to make a HUGE picture file and upload it. Make sure it looks good when printed. The current one is 24" wide. Probably good enough, but I want it to be super nice. No jaggies or obvious pixels.

I'll post to the Trade thread, too. Make sure it's in the right spot.
