Printing color on ImageWriter II from KidPix

Hi everyone,

My kids are making all sorts of colorful creations with kid pix on their computer. I tried hooking my ImageWriter II up and printing in color for them, but it appeared to not work. I checked the “has a color ribbon” box in page setup, to no avail. Can kid pix (2.1) not print color on an ImageWriter II?

Are you referring to Kid Pix 2.1 or 1.2?

I know I have 1.2 on most of the Macs that run Kid Pix and have yet to have an issue with the ImageWriter not printing in color. I do have a copy of Kid Pix 2 and could fool with it sometime to see if there's an issue there.

Have you tried replacing your printer driver? Worth a shot just in case. Also, if you have an ImageWriter II/L (the newer model with the ports parallel, not perpendicular, to the print head), you need at least v2.7 of the ImageWriter driver.

2.1 is the version that is on my kid's machine. I will check the software driver version. Also, the II is a somewhat later (Platinum) version. I had no trouble under System 6 on another SE printing color from The Print Shop.
