Can you get a shot of the inside of the back case, the underside of the logic board area, and a view of the edge connector inside the system?

As far as the inside back case and underside of the logic board area go, I'm looking for the date code matrix.

I'm also interested to see what version edge connector assembly is used.

I've got a few different model color classics, clearly none truly full preproduction units, but a few have come with "SLICE" marked logic boards with EPROMs instead of mask ROM chips, as well as slight variances in the molds and shield.

I've just gotten interested in comparing pics of the ROM implementations on your boards. Is the "ROM SIMM/Connector" a stock 16-bit memory configuration standard? Curious because the CC appears to be at the tail end of the use window of those gargantuan DIP ROMS and my SE TPD cards appear to have been designed for that larger DIP capacity upgrade capability if the need arose.

Do production boards have SMT pads/packages as opposed to socketed thru-hole components? Strange to see the legacy "Clean/Color ROM" fiasco upgrade insurance policy connector on a COLOR Classic. I know they kept the upgrade thru-holes in the spec for a very long time after that, but just sayin.

They're all in through hole DIP packages- just some are UV EPROMs and others are MASK ROM.

He's talking about the ROMSIMM connector I believe.

Side note, my 630 board has through-holes for what I think ROMSIMM connector (64 pin), which is why I was commenting about wanting to try out a Quadra AV ROM with it.

It looks like on the proto's edge connector, there's some seemingly unimplemented pins on the left that were deleted in the production model.

I wonder what they were for?

Which pins? Buzzing the connections even for general location at the business end sounds a treat

If they are pins, and they are buzzable, they shall be buzzed. I wasn't aware of anything until cc posted and need to take a closer look to see what is what.
