PowerBook G3 Lombard power problems

I recently acquired this PowerBook G3 Lombard 333mhz for $50 with an iBook g3 800mhz.
The Lombard has no response when powered on besides a repeating buzz from the power board under the track pad.
I have removed every modular component and inspected the motherboard for corrosion and have removed the PRAM.
Here's the MP3 recording of the sound

I know this might not help, but try checking out the logic board for shorts

strange buzzing noise..when you reassamble it completely does it change? are there parts missing? power adapter ok?

when I lacked one of those older power adapters I just modded a newer G4 one, I bent the outer metal ring some mm and with some wiggling my 1400 started up, every time..temporarily this works for testing.

Would a white Apple charger still work (the ones that came with the ibook g4)? And would snipping the metal work? The center pin i

If you can’t get it working, don’t throw it out. Someone will need a keyboard or other part that’s ok, like the LCD panel itself. Throw it up on eBay or the forum trading post for cheap, that way the useful parts get saved.

I've tested the RAM and Hard Drive and they work

I don't know if anything else works, that's the problem.
You can be pretty sure that the keyboard is ok, not positive, but pretty sure. Same goes for the LCD if it isn’t obviously cracked. I wouldn’t part it out and sell those parts separate, but you can sell the whole unit for parts and get some money back on it.

The pin seems too small, and I can't get it to fit even with more bend than that.

yeah, the inside pin is thinner than from the older G3 adapters, you have to wiggle it a bit around in the DC jack, eventually it starts..
this is a temporary testing solution of course if you dont have any other power adapter at hand.

does it need the outer metal rim? since there's a center ground on the inside pin.

Update- new display housing obtained for cheap and found a cheap original m4402 power supply- wondering if it's dangerous since I heard those had recalls
