Powerbook floppy interface

Anyone know what this interface is called?

It's 20 pins. Is it just an adapted normal internal connector?

If it's 20 pins, then my guess is yes, it is an adapted normal connector.

Anyone care to corroborate?

the powerbook FDD follows the same type of signalling as the desktop systems. They actually can be interchanged. 

HOWEVER, you must know the pinout of the FDD. I used to have it at one point in the past, but ill be damned if I know where it is now. lol.

hmm.  this one that i opened isn't dead so i wasn't gonna be too adventurous.  but what you're saying is that that brown ribbon connector isn't just a fitted/soldered adapter?

i mean honestly the impact of this question is nothing (to me) unless anything other than floppies use that connector standard.  i don't think any do... meaning my best bet is replacing a dead floppy with a floppy.

i'm honestly thinking of going the other way and turning it into a space saver module.
