I don't see any obvious reason why that wouldn't work, plus it's a nice size and a great price for a 5300.
One of the nice things about SSDs is that you can be a bit more creative with the mounting options since they're lighter and don't vibrate. I have velcro on the one in my Mac Pro, while I'm using thick double sided tape in my first generation Macbook Air. Just be sure that you don't put too much stress on the ribbon cable with any mounting option-it's been a little while since I've been inside a 5300, so I don't recall the exact mounting configuration.
