I'm lucky enough to be able to choose between two beautiful PowerBook 1400's. The only difference between the two is one is a 1400c and one is a 1400cs. Which would you choose and why?
LOL, thanks LaPorta. I was thinking the C has the better screen, but also wondered about longevity. I actually have three. One is a 1400cs (117 MHz). I don't wanna be a hog and keep them all. I'm going to give two of them to a good home.
Passive matrix screens were passable, for the budget, when released, however for a collector they're not pleasant to use. Active all the way in terms of brightness, eye strain and reliability (IMO)
1400c hands down - I do have one.
I was given 4x 1400s one had better parts and others were least better parts and started mix'n'match into best 1400s, I turned one into 1400c/166 which I am happy with. I am about to rebuild the battery over the holidays.
Cheers
AP
People are so used to fast response times on LCD panels that most passive matrix screens are almost unusable these days. I'd take an active matrix B&W/Grayscale over a passive matrix colour.
