PowerBook 1400c/166 battery percentage

Hello. How can I see the PowerBook 1400c/166 battery percentage? 

I have a charging signal icon but no percentage. 

The Control Strip does not show any movement.

I guess the battery is not charging ... or holding its charge?

OS is 8.1 btw

If the battery hasnt been rebuilt is highly likely wouldn't charge - it'll try to charge but it won't.

Ive always liked Jeremy control strip because it does show percentage.

You could try freezing the battery to break down the dendrites, allow it to thaw and dry a couple of days, and then attempt charging. Chances are that it's beyond salvation, but you never know, you might get some signs of life. If so, then cycle the battery 100% once or twice and it's just possible that you'd get an hour or more of life out of it.
