If you're feeling adventurous you could try shorting some of the pins on the keyboard connector... I think to GND which is pin 1. I know if you do this on the Portable's keyboard connectors it boots the machine.

The external adb keyboard worked! I have recapped dozen of PB100 and never thought to connect the adb keyboard. How stupid!
