Portrait display with Mac II

I just got the cable for my apple portrait display. I put the card in my Quadra 700 and it worked fine. When its in the Mac II a grey screen appears but nothing else. Any idea what the conflict is? It works without the card in the Quadra 700.

mac II usually need a nubus card for video. make sure the one you're using is compatible.
