Portable and 12 volts !!!

Hey Techknight.

Ive done as you asked.. Good battery, fully charged plugged in.

Pressed and held both nmi and reset together , for 5 seconds

took readings from Q16 and Q20 ( wasnt sure which one you meant)

naming pins 1 to 3 , as you look at them from left to right, with hybrid on bottom left

q16.

1= 2.86  , 2= 5.16, 3= 6.44

after hitting spacebar readings are the same.

Q20

1=5.85  , 2 = 0 , 3 = 6.44

after hitting spacebar readings are the same.

I have a good 6.5 volts on both red wires on battery molex connector.

No heat on any chips anywhere.

I see power going into the pmu

Cant see any voltage going to cpu or roms.

Hybrid is good, you have 5.18V of power regulation. 

you are gonna need to find a donor parts board and replace the PMGR IC.

Does the backlit Portable use the same PMGR IC?

EDIT: I'm pretty sure this is the non-backlit Portable you're talking about here, as that was the only model with the Hybrid.
