A work colleague was about to bin a PII compaq laptop she bought for £1. Needless to say I aquired it. It doesn't start up although the battery charge light comes on when plugged in, has a DVD rom drive, unknown RAM and HD. Even if I can't get it running and load on Linux I can still canibalise the parts.
edit: It's buggered, the smell of roast circuits and a very clogged fan. Still, taken all the innards out and it had an old 3Com Wifi card so bonus.
