Hi,

I recently bought a working Proforma 630 on eBay, looked in good condition, for £35, with a little yellowing to the case.

But the computer was not packed very well:IMG_20260120_143324389.jpgIMG_20260120_143336643_HDR.jpg

I negoiate a £20 refund, as the computer should work.

There is a replacement Facia in Greece fro £24.01 with £24.64 postgage to UK. A bit expensive.7

Could the Front case be repaired?

Yeah, all the plastic bits on those old 90's machines seem to be really fragile. I have been dealing with a much lesser plastics issue in the tray and track that holds the CD Rom drive. I know some parts are available 3D printed if you search around, via the internet, but have never seen anything like a remanufactured facia for this era machine. Will keep my eyes open and report back if I see anything.

Yes, if you have all the pieces then it can be repaired.

You need (I strongly recommend this specifically, not something similar or equivalent):

and something like this, or a very fine brush works ok too:

Also useful is some raw abs (abs printer filament works) and acetone to mix up some abs liquid/gel to reinforce joins on the inside.

However, if you value your time and sanity, the replacement facia from Greece might be the better option!

When I have done this it has been with rarer/higher value items like CRTs and Quadra 800/840 style case parts etc.
630's are pretty common and if you wait and watch carefully you'll probably be able to pick up another one without much difficulty here in the UK.
