PC compatibility CD image

Does anyone have an image of the CD version of the Apple PC compatibility software?

I'm having issues with the floppy images and installing the Apple drivers, prerequisite to installing the 3rd party, v.2 drivers, and wondered if the CD would be a cleaner setup.

I get as far as following the setup in the 2nd floppy image, and there's a mismatch with the directories and no matter where I direct the installer to read from I either get a failure to install (and get redirected to the main install screen) or I get a partial install of the drivers and am unable to install DOS to my PC image.

Does the CD have the same two floppy images as from Macintosh Garden?

Just wondering if there's a different file structure.

Yep its the same as whats is in Macintosh Garden - there is no difference.

You are talking about the PC Compatibility software for the DOS Compatible models? I just made images of the entire suite of floppies that came with the 6100 DOS Compatible models from original disks, all working fine. Would these images help you?

Also, what is this 3rd party version you are taking about?

It's the PC Compatibility—there's a difference as the hardware vastly changed between the PDS (DOS Compatibility) and the PCI versions, from what I could tell. Correct me I'm wrong there.

The third party update was for the PCI/Pentium cards so you could run windows 95/98 —it was essentially a robust driver update on both sides, Mac OS and on whatever windows version. They were 32-bit drivers (?)

I've installed it on the 4400/G3 at the moment. It works, I've gotten the "tiny boot disk" image it came with to function. Simply creating my own has proved problematic, but it really is user error at this point. I haven't sat down with the manual with the machine at the same time, but in a quick browse, my order of operations was wrong.

Is there a specific version of DOS that needs to be installed (first)? Like did Apple broker a special deal, or are they bog-standard DOS floppies for WinTel machines of the era? I've found DOS 6.2.2 images that I'm planning to floppy copy. You can write DOS images to Imation SuperDisk USB floppy drive disks with DD in terminal, right? I can read/write normally on OS X 10.4.11 so I assume this is doable. If not, I'll have to source a floppy for my AMD machine—the Imation refuses to work on it.

PC Setup 2.0 works with the older PDS cards (I have it running on my 6100). Apple used a unified installer on the Macintosh side for all of their PC cards, so PC Setup 1.6.4 should be all you need.
