On Mac  OS9 and prior, what is "open play"?

I cannot open Pod Player because OS 9 cannot find Open Play.

Google shows a lot of results that very clearly outline what OpenPlay is... Including your original post on Apple Support.

In fact, there's even a page which lists OpenPlay for download, if you feel like trying it: http://www.tntbasic.com/download/adlib.php

It's technically a lib page for a different program, but it's what you need nonetheless.
