NuBus cards with no DeclROM?

Apple wanted you to have one but technically it's not needed. The card isn't going to show up in anything that uses Slot Manager but if you wrote your driver/software to just poke the Nubus slot addresses and probe for the card on your own that's going to work just fine as well.
 
Stranger still support seems to be entirely self-contained within the app. It finds the card and loads a DRVR for it.
 
Might be a small PROM with the ID rather than an EPROM. The chip above the crystal on the left side of the card has the markings mostly smeared out but it looks like it was stamped "ROM".

...and then I see the other, clearer picture and it's just a 7400 and "ROK", not "ROM".
 
Interesting, I didn’t know they made a Macintosh version of this. I have one of these for the Apple IIGS.
