I managed to pick up a "used" Harris D814 punch down tool for $15 + $5 shipping from a trade website for used telephony gear. The description said it was used, but the picture had it still in its box. So I emailed the seller and they said they bought it, but never used it, so they're reselling it. So nabbed it. It was brand new.
This is gonna be great because I scored an AppleTalk hub a while back. I'm gonna pick up a used patch panel and phone board from the recycler and use my nifty new tool to punch out an AppleTalk hub.
I can also buy smaller blades to punch ribbon cables. Darn useful.
