HDD power connector from a SE/30 analog board…..

Add flux, heat, solder, done….

Yes…. I did the whole board as well….

I know the guy that I got this from, and I know he flew it to LA & back, and home to England & back, a few times..

He never had problems with it, back in the early ’90s.

Time has worked into it!!

Could the mechanical stress of removing/re-attaching the connector on the other side contributed to this?

 As far as I know, the HD was only removed once to archive it, and the power connector wasn't pulled off the analog board.

If anything, I think it was the vibrations from multiple flights around the world.

I got this from the original owner, and know he flew with it a lot in the early 90's.

So true - I got many cheap/free Macs back in the day because they "didn't work". I did my best to give them back after this quick fix, but I ended up keeping a lot of them
