Micron XCEED SE/30 6–48

Aha! Finally, my dream of having both a compact mac and colour at the same time — although I did just BIN a IIfx without ram (which is, I know, expensive) for AU$20. I need a bigger house...

The XCEED was just US$25, although I believe it's not one of the ones that'll work with the greyscale adaptor. Can anyone correct me? Can anyone tell me what the switch on the back does? Can anyone tell me what monitors will work with it?

And I can answer my own question, because Gamba's site (which I had open in another tab when I wrote the question...) says it's not, but that it will do VGA at 640x480, which is rad.

SE/30 with System 6 in colour on an external LCD? I think so.

If you're looking for IIfx Ram, I have 4 1MB sticks that are excess and would go pretty cheap. These are the real 64 pin IIfx Simms that were working the last time I had them in my IIfx and would be tested again before leaving here. Of course, shipping to Australia is not cheap.

Mac2geezer — kind offer. I may well take you up on that. I'll have to wait until I get the IIfx (which comes with a free II, IIci and 2-page working Apple monitor!) to make sure it's in good enough condition to bother spending the money on. If not, I guess I've got a once-$15,000 bookend, which is nice in itself.

Having bought what is describable in Biblical terms as an heap of 64-pin RAM, and being much closer, I can give you some. I bought them for £0.99 for no better reason than that they were there, and not because I have a IIfx. Unfortunately I don't have none (Elizabethan usage this time) larger than 1MB/80ns, but half-a-RAM is better than none. Alternatively, PM trag and see whether he has any of his 16MB SIMMs left for sale.

4 SIMMs should fit in a standard envelope pretty easily
True, but I doubt the PO gents would be kind to it. A small box would be better methinks.

I too bought a small pile of about 50 or sticks of RAM a year ago. It's slowly being integrated into older macs and 2 of my friends Amiga's. Hey we can make RAM keychains! Ooh, everyone loves RAM keychains.
