Major Score! 8600 with Sonnet CPU, 3DFX card, Etc

You definitely want to stick with tractor-fed paper for the ImageWriter. Sheet-fed paper will lead to a high-percentage of jams and misfeeds (like pulling 2 sheets at a time).
I have had good experience with the IWII adn the cut sheet feeder.  I think the thickness of paper one uses may affect how well it works.

I have noticed the Imagewriter II trips my breaker for my office basement if i leave it plugged in.

Is this more likely to be the power cord, or the unit itself?

Seems to work fine but it's definitely this item, when i leave it unplugged not trip.  When i leave it plugged in, the next morning it's dead down there.  And this is into a power strip which is then plugged into an outlet.

One of the coolest feature of these Old World Macs is they can boot from a RAM Disc.

Just use the Memory Control Panel to create a RAM Disc, copy your Systems Folder to it and any apps that may fit, then just set that disc to be the Startup Disc and reboot.......

Looking for 2x 128MB Ram dimms for this machine

Anyone have a pair, or know where i might find some for sale?

Bob over at Headgap is sold out.   Thanks!

According to this, you need 5V DIMMS (not 3.3V), so be careful:

This computer requires either 5-volt, 64-bit, 168-pin fast-paged mode (FPM) 70ns DIMMs, in 2k or 4k refresh, or 5-volt, 64-bit, 168-pin Extended Data Out (EDO) 60ns DIMMs. As these machines typically ship with 32MB EDO DRAM (either a single 32MB DIMM in slot B4 or a pair of 16MB DIMMs in slots A4 & B4), MacGurus recommends the installation of EDO memory, despite the fact that no performance benefit accrues through its use.

Note: MacGurus reccomends the use of 168-pin, 5v EDO 64-bit, 2k refresh, 60ns DIMMs in this machine. EDO DIMMs are engineered to higher tolerances, and are more compatible with G3 processor upgrades. The two types of RAM can be mixed in a machine.

Thanks, interesting, doesn't seem to be readily available anywhere.  Luckily i am upgraded over stock but guess i won't be topping off anytime soon.

If anyone knows of any secret ram sources, please do let me know :)
