That isn't what you want to do, you want to pretend to be a 630 or another supported 040.

Make sure you restart after setting Wish I Were to a 630.

Oh interesting, the installer is approved for the 630 but not the 475.

Easy fix, just run "Wish I Were" as a Quadra or Performa 630 then run the installer on your LC 475.

The "Wish I were..." control panel provides a method for a system to identify its hardware as another hardware type, via the Gestalt "mach" selector.

I know "wish I were" to have used it long time ago but thanks for the idea to use it.
As my 475 was overclocked to 33MHz, its Getsalt ID changed and maybe the installer does not like it.

Will try asap

I tried doing the same and still had crash issues. SO I decided maybe the Quadra 950 using a 9150 ID and still that crashed too.
