Why is it that when you're trying to downsize the collection (hacks-in-progress in this instance) it seems to multiply right before your averted eyes. ;D

When I clamped these two bezels together for a comparison shot yesterday, thanks to comrade mcdermd . . .

. . . but, left them clamped together . . . OOPSIE!

I was walking past when I caught it at just the right angle and stopped dead in my tracks.

On the shelf above them was the MacintoshClassicIIIColorTVp™ Hack with the trayloader DVD Payer hack, which, of course, got me thinking . . .

. . . the surface of these plus bezels, as opposed to the Classics, is as flat as a barn door! 8-o

Luckily it may not pan out, the first passes are a little fugly, but the new Zip opening is really growing on me and it'd be killed for a trayloader.

Maniacal V-Hacks these aint, by any stretch of the imagination, but maybe they'll get the concept across.

Sanded smooth, to get rid of the bead from the plastic welder and the texturing, and then painted some snappy frogdesign ConceptMac color, maybe it might not turn out quite this fugly@$$ed!



I like the slot loader version a bit better . . .



. . . this one looks like a really badly done TwiggyHack . . .

. . . if I just had one more front bezel to destroy, I could just replace the entire floppy slot with a standard height Tray DVD . . .

I'd need to find a workable small widescreen VGA equipped TV.

I might use the Atomic Mo . . . nah!

At any rate, the poor thing wouldn't be much deeper than the optical drive.

Dunno, I think this one might die on the vine . . .

:lol: Nope, but I'm gonna go with the original faceted look, if you don't mind. I just have to give that slot a little more TLC and it'll look just fine.

I'm hoping that I can coax some life out of one of the two CRTs that have acted DOA until now. If not, one of them gets its @$$ ground off behind the mounting band tomorrow! That's gonna be the rear projection screen for the MacintoshClassicIIIColorTVp™ as it's about time I got that one rolling again! [}] ]'>

Not every crazy idea is worth following up . . . and this one was more whacky than most . . .

. . . I think I'll go take the clamp off and put the fugly thing down now.

Not at all! I was just bored so why not waste a few behind closed doors in the PhotoShop... ;D

I actually like where you're at so far with that hack. I'll be paying attention to the rear projection..project as well, as that seems interesting as all hail.
