Macintosh SE M5010 HD Bracket

Hi there,

Thanks to Bibilit, I am now the proud owner of an SE with two floppy drives. It works great, but I think it would be even better if it was equipped with a SCSI2SD.

Because of the two FDDs, conventional HDs won't fit properly. See Vectronics' pic of their HD-equipped M5010.

But what about an Apple bracket + SCSI2SD ?

Unfortunately, I don't have a spare HD/Empty bracket on hand to try. Do you know if it fits?

I started working on a bespoke M5010 SCSI2SD bracket. But perhaps this work is useless...

This bracket helps keeping the board from touching any bare metal and it has worked for me. I bet you could just velcro it on top of it will be just fine.

Yeah that could work. But I'm afraid it might fall off even with Velcro.

I'm trying to replicate the lower part of the HD bracket : two tabs that slide into the FDD housing at one end, held up at the other (rear side) by two screws.

I can't really use metal, or can I ?

I finished the design, but since I don't have a proper bracket at the moment (left it at my parent's house), the dimensions are not right. At all.

Dang it, should have remembered!

I think I will re-use the design from your link. At least for the securing the SCSI2SD to the bracket part.
