Macintosh HD20

Is there an extension or something that I can put on the System 7.5NAD disk so itll recognize the HD20?

Reason I ask, is I want to backup the entire HD20 that I have before it eventually fails, but the 7.5NAD disk doesnt recognize it. The system will boot from the HD20 of course, but its running an OS that I cannot get to recognize appleshare localtalk. I think it was System 5, it might even be an early System 6

Using a macintosh SE

Well, mine boots and works, but i want to do an appletalk/appleshare backup of my HD20.

the system 7.5 Network Access Disk wont see the HD20 for me to backup. The system installed on the HD20 doesnt have appletalk/appleshare

FYI, the HD20 is officially not compatible with System 7. Technically Apple dropped support for it under System 6. However, to my knowledge it still works just fine under System 6. AppleShare is perfectly compatible with System 6. Therefore you should create a System 6 startup disk, if 7 is not working for you, install the AppleShare client and it should work perfectly. As long as you are running a Mac with Plus era ROMs or better you should not need the HD20 Init. The ROM should be aware as should the System. i.e. I don't think they stripped the code out until System 7. Also, the HD20 is not supported under an SE/30 without a special INIT (not the HD20), and that's about the point where support for it breaks down in ROM and System.
