Macintosh ED purchase with surprise!

Nice! I have an upgraded 512Ke like that, but mine doesn't work. It's on my list of machines to fix when I finish fixing up my workbench.

That's a nice upgrade! Hope you have the scsi cable as well! This one added a port on the back where the battery lives, right?

I got a similar thing with an ED I bought a few years ago.  It is probably the cleanest compact Mac I've come across to date, and it had a 2MB RAM board installed.  Love these things!  I also have an SE with a Levco board in it, and another SE with some other card (can't recall as this time, Advanced something?).  Enjoy!

yes it did ! :)

not being ecstatic about it right now, it gives me 02xxx RAM related error. Does it add up another 512k to existing RAM or totally bypasses motheboard mem adding full 1 MB?

We've got to get this thing back up and running!

I think it adds another 512k of RAM on top of the onboard 512k. You should google whatever's written on top of those chips to find out.

I believe the sad mac code is irrelevant here, since this is a 3rd party extension. Unless....

Is it possible to remove the daughterboard? I don't know how this was connected to the Logic Board: Killy clip on top of the MC68000 or on top of the original RAM? If it is possible, then you should try to boot it up without the MacSnap.

Maybe the board is misaligned ? If possible you should reseat it.

Side note: Killy clips are very delicate things, and they can break easily. Just don't apply too much force.

The macsnap board adds a extra 512k iirc, It should be esay to remove and test, It just clips over 4 or 5 ic's on the board (Not the CPU btw)

I have one of those macsnap boards sitting around, I brought it with a couple of 512k boards with the intention of fitting it to one, but in the end i got hold of the parts from a MacGusto II board (Which adds a extra 2mb of ram, scsi and a optional 68881 fpu)
