During today's rake of the science faculty skips at Uni, I was delighted to come across a 14" Macintosh Colour Display that had been disposed of. It is in relatively good condition but has obviously been sitting out in the rain all weekend, so currently it is on the floor with the cover off in order to dry it out.
There was also a Multiple Scan 15" display there which I was tempted by, but I already have one of those and I have no space for another, so I decided to leave it. However I nabbed the VGA to Mac monitor cable off of it as they are always useful (especially for using old Macs with my VGA KVM switch).
I haven't yet tested the Colour Display, but I will do after a couple of days, when I can be sure it is fully dry. Hopefully it will work and if it does then I think I will partner it with my IIcx, as it is currently using a rather dull 15" PC monitor with an adaptor. The Colour Displays are very aesthetically pleasing in my opinion as they fit very well with the II and LC series.
There is one other Colour Display in my collection, but I think it may be on the way out as it makes a loud and very annoying, high-pitched whistling noise when it is turned on.
