Mac SE Ejects Floppy Even When No Floppy Is Drive

I picked up a Mac SE "Superdrive" model recently. The oddest thing. When powered on, the floppy drive triggers the eject mechanism about every 8 seconds even when no disk is inserted. If a bootable system disk is in the drive, it shows the happy Mac and begins to boot, but the disk is then ejected causing the system to hang...then every 8 seconds, I hear the drive ejecting a disk that has already been ejected. It's like the system begins to boot, but the drive erroneously triggers an eject repeatedly and endlessly.

Anyone have any idea what might be causing the floppy to endlessly eject?

Thanks for any help!

Turns out it was one of the three microswitches at the lip of the drive was being depressed by a bent piece of the drive frame. Took the whole thing apart, cleaned, and lubricated it before I notices the bent metal. No more constant ejecting.
