Mac IIfx outputs green video

I have a Macintosh IIfx with a Macintosh High-Resolution Video Card (supports 640x480 at 67Hz) and when running it through a 10-switch DB15 to VGA adapter set up in 13" RGB mode, I get green video. And by green I mean...really green.

I'm using one of these adapters set for 13" RGB, mode 5, which is the only setting I've found that successfully outputs video.

What could be causing the green tint? I'm wondering if maybe I need to set the adapter for Sync on Green instead...

The card is sync on green your monitor is not so you get the green tint.

I was hoping that wouldn't end up being the case. I don't think I have a sync on green monitor so I guess I'm stuck with green vision until I buy another video card.

I think all the Nubus era cards (and built in Mac video) was SOG. I just use old Sony Trinitron CRT monitors that handle SOG.

Nothing beats a solid well cared for sharp Trinitron display.

I have a Samsung LCD that has no problem display video from my Q700 and Radius/SuperMac cards via a no-dip vga adapter. Do you have another adaptor to try

The Dell monitor you have should have SOG support.

That would be great if I could find one of those and had the space for it.

Unfortunately I don't have another adapter. I suppose I could try and see if there's a menu option for handling the green signal.

Have you ever tried vga/svga modes?Moreover i suggest 1467,14678,14679, 146789 combinations.

Macintosh High resolution video card 640*480*67 was recognized by "all" my LCD monitors!

I'm using a slightly newer Dell LCD (Dell UltraSharp 1905fp) with a similar looking adapter and it looks like the switch table is the same so perhaps you'll have luck using the same settings I do.  It's worked on everything from base IIs with the Toby card on up through Beige G3s.  Using the Multiple Scan 21 setting I switch between Composite Sync 1 (1459) and Sync on green (149) depending on the machine and I have yet to find a machine that doesn't play nicely with one of those settings.

Yeah, switching to the sync on green setting ended up fixing it. Now I can load it up with software.

It's so much nicer having proper colors, though I wish 7.1.1 had desktop backgrounds built in. I really didn't want to install 7.5.5 off floppy disks though.
