I recently upgraded my CC to a mystic with the VGA screen mod. Ever since, the red display will flicker, or even shut off completely, leaving just green and blue to display on the screen. Is it just a dead (or dying) analog board? Any ideas? :?:
Wiggle the internal display connector around for a bit as LCGuy suggested. This problem is relatively common on RGB monitors and is solved in the same fashion (except the connector is the one placed into a computer's monitor port).
It's probably not an analog issue. I have never seen an AIO machine nor a standalone RGB monitor lose a color due to a faulty power supply.
Well, I can double-check the connector and plug, but I've opened it up a few times and there has never been a time when it got worse, or better. Could the VGA upgrade have anything to do with this? What about the 575 board?
It's probably a dry solder joint - I fixed mine by resoldering all the pins which correspond to the R/G/B wires on the analog board, and the PCB that attaches to the yoke.
My Mystic without VGA mod misses green. resoldering all connections on the Joke PCB didnt solve it yet. so seems like i got to take the whole thing apart and check the analog board :/
Two years later taking the whole thing apart, taking out the AB and cleaning all connectors (AB slide in connector thingy, the connectors of the wires that run from the AB connector to the video section on the AB and the yoke PCB <-> joke connection) solved it for now.
