Mac Classic II, Went from black and white bars to nothing.

Hello.

Well i got my mac off of eBay. It ran for about 45 minutes and when i went to use it later on it gave me the vertical bars. It looked like the capacitors on the logic board were bad, and i replaced them with new ones (thanks trag!) and did a through cleaning of the electrolytic fluids.

Still vertical bars.

Knowing the PRAM battery was dead i went and ordered a pack (had 3 machines that needed them).

Today i received my batteries and installed on into my Classic II, but still... bars. I tried a PRAM reset, and to be honest i don't know if this works on that model. I did the option+apple+p+r combo and resulted in a black screen. Powered off and back on but still no image at all now! I do however still have a faint glow at the back of the CRT so i am not sure what happened and this is where i am asking for some help.

Try removing and replacing the ROM chips. Make sure the notches all face the edge of the board, not the center. If you get any kind of response at all from this then bars or black screen again, you may need to replace the ROM sockets.

Hmm. I tired to re-seat them and made sure the contacts were clean when i did the capacitors. I will give it a good look over to see if i missed any damaged connections.
