Hello,

i bought a Macintosh Classic II. Unfortunately the hard drive seems to be broken. Only the insert Disc symbol appears. Since I had a SCSI server hard drive laying around, I installed this. I tried to format the hard drive with HD SC Setup from the System 6.0.8L disc but it coudn't find the hard drive. After some research I learned that I need a patched version of HD SC Setup. So I put it on a disc and tried it but with the same result.

What could be wrong?

Could it be a problem with the server hard drive?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

Unfortunately, the hard drive seems to be broken, because it is only the disk icon on the screen to see. a SCSI hard disk, since I have lying around here, I have installed these. This I have drawn on diskette and unfortunately started but with the same result.

What could be? If the hard drive may be wrong? It is an old server disk.

First thing I'd check is the termination of the hard drive.  Are you using a 68pin to 50 pin adapter?  If you are, sometimes those have a jumper for termination that you need to use, otherwise it won't terminate correctly.
