picked up a big bag full of RAM today. mostly 72pin simm, and some 30pin SIMM.

72-pin SIMM:

1 small SIMM (maybe 72 pin laptop?) SEC KMM332V410BS-L7

1 small SIMM (maybe 72 pin laptop?) MT8LDT432HG-6

3 sticks of maybe ECC SDRAM SEC KMM372V413BK-6U

Phew.. that was alot of inventorying and typing. Are these of any use in the mac world? I dont have any PCs or servers that would take this RAM.

30 pin and 72 pin RAM are used all through the 68k Mac line, where proprietary modules are not. 72 pin is also used in the earliest PPCs.

That "pushpin" RAM could be a SIPP module; they were used on some early x86 and other machines. Are the pins all on one edge of, and in line with, the module? ie, as opposed to being at right angles like a DIP chip, a SIPP has pins and PCB in one plane.

VRAM came in a Z-Pack/ZIP-Pack kinda config where the contacts are on .01 centers on each side but the second row is offset by .005 from the first.

no no, not that kind of pushpin type ram.

this is like a header pin style RAM. it has a female connector on it, similar to a laptop HDD connector.

It could be laptop RAM of some sort...I have a RAM module from a 486 laptop somewhere around here that looks somewhat similar. And remember, older PowerBooks (PB1xx) used similar connectors to what you're describing.

This is PB100 RAM. I've got this module in my (not booting) pb100.

Edit: some googling implies it's 2MB, which seems about right.

Ya, i decided to google it, and thats it. looks exactly as that. I dont have any PB100s, so its of no use to me.
