Looking for Motorola MC68851 PMMU for Macintosh II

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a Motorola MC68851 PMMU chip to upgrade my Macintosh II. The machine currently runs with a 68020 and I’d like to enable full virtual memory support, ideally to run A/UX or other OSes requiring a PMMU.

If you have a working MC68851 (preferably tested or NOS), or a scrap board that includes one (like a Motorola MVME132 or similar), I’m very interested.

I’m located in France, and willing to pay via PayPal (goods/services) and cover shipping.

Also open to trades if you’re into vintage Mac parts.

I know, sadly… I’m also looking for a IIfx board. I already have one, but it’s completely destroyed by a leaky Maxwell battery. I’d like to make a recreation board, but a couple of ICs are too far gone.

Have you considered going this route...

Were you looking for the Turbo040 or the Mac II adapter specifically?
I have more Mac II adapters currently available at 50€ + shipping.

IMO that's a great price on the adapter. Of course, you'd need to find an accelerator, but that would result in a much quicker A/UX machine...

I don’t have an accelerator; it’d probably cost more than a whole IIfx anyway. My total budget is about $50.

Find something with a 68020 thats dead and strip it from there. I don't see where else you are going to find that part with that budget.

Whole working IIfx are $500-1000.

Keep in mind, you’ll also need PAL RAM SIMMs, not just regular 30pin RAM. Last I heard, they were unobtanium.

I already have that from my dead board. By the way I’m using it as decoration!
The 68882 isn’t gone, I’m using it in my Mac II.

I was referring to Mac II, not IIfx. You need PAL RAM for Mac II (in addition to the PMMU).
