Lombard case plastics

Finally got my Lombard back up to 512MB RAM. So nice....

Anyway, I noticed on the bottom of the case that there is a crack from the Apple logo to about 2/3rds of the way to the rear of the unit. It seems to have occurred within the last two months. When holding the laptop with your hand around the rear of the unit there does not seem to be anything underneath that area.

Any ideas on a way to prevent the crack from getting any larger?

The traditional way to prevent cracks from going further is to drill a small hole at the end of the crack. Not flash, but will save the plastic from further cracking.

Or you can try filling the crack with cyanoacrylate (aka Krazy Glue/SuperGlue)

or both, altho CA glue tends to be abit brittle, but i cant think of anything else that would wick its way into the crack as easy

You need a solvent-type plastic welder, for example Ambroid's ProWeld. It's a very thin solvent that can be wicked into a crack. I've repaired tons of cracked and broken PB ABS parts with ProWeld with great success.

Check your local hobby shops, but I bought it online at a hobby supply place.
