Learning about SCSI II . . . the hard way . . .

. . . as usual. :-/

I spent the weekend digging amongst the stuff to get some things hooked up. The second attempt went marginally better than the first, but not go.

Does anyone have any pointers?

No manual for the ATTO Silicon Express, but it came with a floppy but no manual, it doesn't appear to need drivers. Has anyone got any pointers, I guess trying a formatting utility would be the next step. I've got several versions of HDT from over the years and I think I've still got Silverlining floating around in one of the boxen somewhere.

The first attempt was more frustrating . . .

SPYRUS MS-MCDISK-D, a PCMCIA/JEIDA Card Reader/Writer made by MPL in Switzerland . . . says "MOSAIC" on the front panel

PLI QUICKSCSI V.I.O. REV. B

SCSI II External Cable from my Nikon CoolScan that I discovered digging for photo gear in that drawer . . . thought I'd have to buy one yesterday!

Power light was fine when it wasn't hooked up, hooked it up and the Status LED lit up, plugged in a PC Card adapter for the 1GB Compact Flash I boot my PBs from for testing and the Red Status LED winked out . . .

Joy, rapture and all that kinda crap. :p

Actually, I didn't really expect to get anything up and running, I just wanted to get the parts hooked together. :approve:

H*E*L*P*!*!*!*!!!! ;D
